Update on Upcoming Events in Egypt:

Due to the current security situation in the Gulf region and recent international travel warnings regarding Egypt, the Pro Golf Tour has reassessed the upcoming events. The safety of all players and staff remains our top priority.

  • The March tournaments (10–12 March 2026 and 15–17 March 2026) have been cancelled.

  • The April tournaments (7–9 April 2026 and 12–14 April 2026) will be relocated from Cairo to Ain Sokhna, provided that the regional conditions allow the events to take place safely. The new entry deadline for both April events is 19 March 2026.

Further updates will follow. Thank you for your understanding.

Egypt – two events to find an overall champion?

Pro Golf Tour 2017

As in 2015 and 2016 the Pro Golf Tour next year will start into the new season with two events in Egypt. The tournaments have been a guarantor for leading the tours’ ranking.

Ain Sokhna/ Egypt ˗ What’s the thing that Dutchman Reinier Saxton, German Philipp Mejow, Antoine Schwartz from France and Belgian Christopher Mivis in common? They all love wearing caps. But the main thing is that every one of them has won an event on the course of the Sokhna Golf Club in Ain Sokhna. And each had been the leader of the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit, some ended as overall champion.

It seems like the Top 5 of the ranking can already be found at the very beginning of the season in Egypt. If this will also be the case next year, nobody can already say. But it’s not that improbable: The magnificent par-72 course requires the participants to play as good as they can. But well ondulated greens, beautiful lakes and the amazing scenery compensate the effort.

The next season will start with the Red Sea Egyptian Classic (17. - 19. January) and the Red Sea Ain Sokhna Classic (23. - 25. January). The deadline for both events, each endowed with 30.000 Euro prize money, is on December 14.
