Pro Golf Tour Final in Adendorf

Castanea Resort Championship 2017

Everything is ready for the top-class Pro Golf Tour Final 2017: the tour’s best players will not just be determining the champion of the season’s final tournament with EUR 50,000 prize money at the Castanea Resort from 25 to 27 September but decisions will also be made about the overall winner of the 2017 tour and promotion to the European Challenge Tour 2018.

Adendorf – The Castanea Resort in Adendorf and its excellent championship course have been the host and venue for the Pro Golf Tour season final since 2015 and this is not going to change in the next few years: Rainer Adank, the resort’s owner, has extended the contract with the Pro Golf Tour for another three years until 2020 initially. That’s how long it will be decided just a few kilometres outside Lüneberg who ultimately manages promotion to the European Challenge Tour; the top 5 in the final Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit always move up to Europe’s second-tier tour. In purely mathematical terms, Hinrich Arkenau, currently number 14 in the ranking, still therefore has the chance of promotion, as the winner in Adendorf accepts the largest winner’s cheque in the entire year for EUR 7,800. After 20 of the 21 tournaments in total this year, number 5 in the ranking list is the Czech Stanislav Matus, ahead of him lie the Swissman Marco Iten, Pedro Figueiredo from Portugal, Ben Parker (England) and Nicolai von Dellingshausen; the number 1 in the Order of Merit has already left for the Challenge Tour with three wins this season. If von Dellingshausen comes under the top 70 in the 2017 Challenge Tour’s final ranking, he is currently in 56th place, the number 6 on the Pro Golf Tour 2017 is also promoted, which is the amateur Max Schmitt from Andernach at the moment.

Mathematical games with an uncertain result. What is already clear: apart from the number 1, von Dellingshausen, all the Pro Golf Tour 2017’s top players will be teeing off in Adendorf, where a just as sporty selective as outstandingly prepared course awaits them. “The course and greens are in an excellent condition,” reports Marion Groß Osterhues. “We’re really looking forward to the final and to the very special mood during this tournament week,” says the resort’s golf manager. To guarantee the tournament an appropriate setting in every respect, her team has prepared the course perfectly and ensured that the players find outstanding playing conditions, as in previous years. The defender of the title is local matador Niklas Adank, who was able to beat Max Eichmeier from Nördlingen in the playoff last year; they had both shared first place with 8 under par after 54 holes.

“We’re really delighted to be continuing the successful cooperation with Rainer Adank and the Castanea Resort for another three years,” says Rainer Goldrian, Pro Golf Tour Managing Director. “A first-class golf course is extremely important, particularly for our tour’s final; good, continuous collaboration over many years is just as helpful.” 72 players are teeing off in Adendorf, the final will be reported on every day on www.progolftour.de as well as on the Pro Golf Tour Facebook page.
