At the best golfer's age: Mruzek takes second victory in St. Pölten
Raiffeisen Pro Golf Tour St. Pölten 2025
Filip Mruzek (-15) celebrates his second title less than three months after his first victory on the Pro Golf Tour in Egypt.
St. Pölten, Austria – 65 strokes without even looking at the leaderboard. Before his supposedly last shot on hole 18 at the St. Pölten Golf Club, Filip Mruzek asked tournament director Marcus Hamberger about the intermediate score to be on the safe side. “He told me I had to hole this two-meter putt for birdie,” the Czech revealed a few minutes after his birdie putt on the final par 5. The putt landed in the hole and Mruzek took the title at the Raiffeisen Pro Golf Tour 2025 in St. Pölten. It was his second title this year and also the second title of his career. With an overall score of -15, Mruzek was one stroke ahead of the Austrian Bernard Neumayer and two ahead of the German Linus Lang.
Not knowing where he stands during a final round is a conscious decision by the 33-year-old. “I just play my game. Regardless of whether I'm leading or not, it's about staying focused for the whole 18 holes.” He doesn't want to notice when someone is on a roll. Just like Lang in the final, who got back into the title fight with his 62 (-8). Mruzek had also managed a 62 on the first day. After his 66 (-4) in the final, he spoke in retrospect of “dream golf” in round one. “It was one of those days where you just keep going because you know the game is there. You just want to go as low as possible.” The bogey-free opening round was ultimately the basis for the start-to-finish victory.

Order of Merit of the 2025 Season
“I feel better than ever”
With his second victory of the Pro Golf Tour season, Mruzek takes the lead in the Order of Merit. When asked whether he is one of the most experienced players on the Pro Golf Tour, he initially answers with a grin: “At the moment I feel better than ever. I know that the experience from the past 16 years as a professional is now slowly taking effect. I've been told that the best age for golf is 33, and I can confirm that it's true.” The family man also puts the current top form of his career down to his intensive mental work. Together with his mental coach Jiří Procházka, a Czech UFC fighter, he has adopted a winning tactic: “Play simple and aggressive - that's my game plan, and it's working well.”
The two-week Lower Austria Swing comes to an end with the Raiffeisen Pro Golf Tour St. Pölten. According to Mruzek, he enjoyed the time very much. “Austria is beautiful. I like the country.” He particularly liked the St. Pölten Golf Club with its wooded sections, as well as the fact that it presented itself very fairly. “You can win a lot, but you can also lose if you don't drive well.” Mruzek hit many fairways and was ultimately rewarded with his second title on the Pro Golf Tour. Probably not his last. “If you stay fit and mentally strong, there are no limits.”
In the Order of Merit, Dutchman Lars van der Vight was ousted from first place. Clement Guichard from France moved up to third place, while fourth and fifth place were taken by the Germans Carl Siemens and Martin Obtmeier.
After these highlight weeks in Lower Austria, the Pro Golf Tour will be taking a longer break. The next tournament is the Gradi Polish Open by Emeralld, which will be held from July 2 to 4 at the Gradi Golf Club in Poland.
