Raiffeisen Pro Golf Tour St Pölten 2017 presented by Diners Club & Noyan Golftravel

Stanislav Matus from the Czech Republic is the winner of the Raiffeisen Pro Golf Tour St Pölten 2017 presented by Diners Club & Noyan Golftravel. On the par 71 golf course of St. Pölten GC in Austria the 28 year old secured his victory with rounds of 62, 70 and 64, a total 17 under par. This finally gave him a one shot lead over German Nicolai von Dellingshausen (64, 68, 65/-16), third place was shared by German Max Griesbeck and Johann Lopez Lazaro from France who both played 13 under par. For Prague based professional Stanislav Matus it is his second triumph on the Pro Golf Tour. The 5000 euro prize money respectively the 5000 ranking list points make him move forward to the 4th position of the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit.

Neidling/Austria – "It was a great match today, indeed it felt like Matchplay", Matus said after receiving the trophy. It is his second win on the Pro Golf Tour in total, in 2016 he was successful at the Haugschlag NÖ Open, also in Austria. This time he was tied for the lead after 36 holes with German Nicolai von Dellingshausen, both had scored a total 10 under par for rounds 1 and 2 on the par 71 golf course of St. Pölten Golf Club in Neidling.

And it really was Matchplay style they showed during the final round: They equally birdied holes 3, 6 and 10, and they were also tied when they went towards the 17th tee. But whilst Matus managed to finish the tournament with two more birdies on 17 and 18 von Dellingshausen just birdied the 18th hole and therefore had to be fine with the runner-up position.

"I am really happy with this win", Matus said, "I felt my game getting better and better during the last weeks and so this is a perfect reward for my hard work." He made use of the not so very long fairways in St. Pölten, precisely placed his teeshots and also rolled in his putts from the distance. "Compared to last year they really improved the greens a lot", Matus stated, "the were very good and true and it was great fun to putt."

The 5000 euro purse combined with 5000 Points for the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit carry his name on 4th position of the season so far. And the next chance to improve is not far away: On Monday Pro Golf Tour  players tee off for the first round of the Adamstal Open 2017. Another tournament in Austria and therefore another place where Stanislav Matus is always able to perform like a champion.
