Neidling/Austria − “It’s been my week!” Since the start of the tournament Christopher Mivis felt extremely good on the par-71-course of the GC St. Pölten - a golf facility that suits his game perfectly: “For the last few weeks I’ve been playing very good wedges, which is exactly the key to success on such a tight parcours”, Mivis said. With perfect control over the ball the Belgian achieved six birdies on each of the first two days, which brought him the second rank on the leaderboard, only one stroke behind Julian Kunzenbacher, who was in the lead with 13 under par. “I knew, I couldn’t force anything on this course so I tried to stay calm”, the champion described his tactics for the final round.

Already on the first green Mivis was able to catch up to the German by playing birdie, four holes later he got in the lead with another birdie as Kunzenbacher had to note a bogey on his scorecard. And Mivis didn’t give up his leadership until the end of the tournament.

For the 27-year-old it is already his second victory of the season after winning the Red Sea Ain Sokhna Classic in Egypt in January. With a total 17.318 points Mivis also takes over the first place in the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit after twelve out of 19 tournaments. Antoine Schwartz from France is now ranked second followed by Julian Kunzenbacher.

After three exciting tournaments on excellent golf courses in Austria the Pro Golf Tour takes a two-week-break. On the 12th of June the first round of the CEEVEE Leather Open 2016 will start in the GC Glashofen-Neusaß, which is the first event that is held in Germany this year. Defending champion is Antoine Schwartz, which makes it very clear, that the battle for the ranking-leadership will stay as exciting as it is.
