Prusice, Poland – It was a commanding victory that marked the 10th anniversary of the Gradi Polish Open by Emeralld. Despite trailing by five strokes heading into the final round at the picturesque Gradi Golf Club near Wrocław, Switzerland’s Fiorino Clerici ultimately secured his second Pro Golf Tour title in impressive fashion. Thanks to the best round of the day — a 64 (-6) in challenging, gusty conditions — the 31-year-old finished three strokes ahead of a five-player group that included Philipp Macionga and Martin Obtmeier (both from Germany), Kristof Ulenaers (from Belgium), Antoine Bachelier (from France), and local hero Mateusz Gradecki.
“Relieved, happy, just happy,” Clerici said in response to his triumph. The foundation for his second victory on the Pro Golf Tour—following his debut win at the start of the 2024 season—was a flawless 62 in the second round of the 2026 Gradi Polish Open by Emeralld. “I really didn’t expect that,” said Clerici, who had been ranked 100th in the Order of Merit prior to the event in Poland. "I enjoy playing at Gradi because the course suits me. Of course, you can never expect a round like that. It makes it all the more wonderful when it works out. Then you think to yourself: Okay, I can still do it."
Putts as the Key
Clerici had struggled to get into the swing of the season up to that point due to a “combination of several factors.” "At the start of the season, I was having trouble with my tee shots. Then, while I was in India on the HotelPlanner Tour, I caught an infection that required surgery.” It wasn’t until a few weeks ago that he slowly began to find his form again. At the Gradi Polish Open by Emeralld, his feel on the greens was key to his success. "The key was that I didn't miss a single putt within four meters all week. I could rely on my putting at all times, and that was ultimately decisive.”
He "really likes" the course "anyway," partly because it's different from the other courses on the tour. "It's significantly shorter, and the greens are smaller. That makes approach shots—especially putting—even more important.”
Clerici climbs to 24th place in the Order of Merit with his first win of the season. The top five in the season standings—Dario Antonisse (Netherlands), Kristof Ulenaers (Belgium), Philipp Macionga (Germany), Mauro Gilardi (Switzerland), and Louis Bonte (France)—remain unchanged. The next points will be awarded at the Cuber Open from July 21 to 23, 2026.
