Czech Republic: New tournament on two courses

EXTEC Czech One Open by Atomic Drinks

Novelty in the calendar of the Pro Golf Tour: For the first time there will be three tournaments in the Czech Republic this year. At the EXTEC CzechOne Open by Atomic Drinks, which will be held for the first time, the athletes will play in two different places from 23 to 25 August 2019. On the course of the Golf Resort Karlovy Vary in Karlovy Vary and on the grounds of the Golf Club Sokolov in Dolni Rychnov, which is about a 30 minutes drive away, up to 156 participants will tee off.

Karoly Vary / Dolní Rychnov (Czech Republic) - The first stage of the Czech Republic's 2019 series of the Pro Golf Tour will be the EXTEC Trophy 2019 by ATOMIC DRINKS at the Ypsilon Golf Resort Liberec in mid-May. The tournament is a classic and has been an integral part of the tour calendar for many years. The second tour event this year in the Czech Republic is the Czech Classic 2019, which takes place in the middle of June at the Kaskáda Golf Resort Brno - here the Pro Golf Tour will be for the first time.

At the end of August the EXTEC CzechOne Open by ATOMIC DRINKS will follow as the third station, and this second tour premiere can boast a special feature: the field of up to 156 players will complete rounds 1 and 2 alternately on the courses of the Golf Resort Karlovy Vary and the Golf Club Sokolov; both facilities are about half an hour's drive away from each other and have a completely different character. The final round of the top 40 after 36 holes will then be played in Karlovy Vary.

The golf course of Karlovy Vary was built in the years 1928 to 1933. Its fairways are lined with mighty trees, and above all precision with the irons is needed here to perform well. The Sokolov fairways were built between 2002 and 2005. It is a rather open, wide course that requires a solid tee shot.

Good starting position

The tournament is endowed with € 30,000 in prize money and the same number of points will be distributed to the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit. And that also ensures that there will be a high-caliber field: the EXTEC CzechOne Open by ATOMIC DRINKS is the penultimate tournament of the 2019 season, followed only by the Castanea Resort Championship, the big season finale at the end of September in Adendorf. There, the promotion tickets for the European Challenge Tour 2020 will be awarded, and for the top players of the Pro Golf Tour, it is therefore crucial to secure a good starting position in Karlovy Vary in the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit to have a say when the five Challenge Tour 2020 qualifiers are awarded.
