Ain Sokhna/Egypt – Ten birdies and three bogeys, -7: Very solid game so far by Polish professional Mateusz Gradecki. The magnificent golf course of the Sokhna Golf Club close to the Red Sea demands a lot of skills and precise shots, but Gradecki  handles it very well. After finishing third at the Wroclaw Open 2017 the 23-year-old is aiming his first win on the Pro Golf Tour. After he was ranked second at the end of round 1, Gradecki reached the top of the leaderboard with a 70 and a total score of seven under par.

The man from Poland will start from the pole position tomorrow together with German Michael Hirmer: The amateur, who held the shared seventh rank yesterday, already scored two eagles during the event in Egypt. In round 2 he finished hole 11, a 293 meter par 4, with his second shot, and reached the clubhouse with a 67 on his scorecard. Only fellow-countryman Fabian Becker managed to shoot as low as Hirmer.

Yesterdays leader, Frenchman Clement Batut, played one over on day 2 and fell back to the fourth rank, which he shares with Austrian Matthias Eggenberger and Q-School winner Liam Johnston from Scotland (each-5). Dominic Pietzsch holds place 3 with 6 under par.
