Diedorf, Deutschland – The first German Swing on the Pro Golf Tour will take place on three exceptional tournament courses. In June 2026, three new events will bring professional golf to Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse. In the newly introduced German Swing, international professional golf talents will compete in consecutive events at the Owingen-Überlingen Golf Club on Lake Constance (VcG Bodensee Open, 9 to 11 June), the Golf- und Land-Club Köln in Refrath (VcG Cologne Open, 16 to 18 June) and the Golf-Club Neuhof near Frankfurt am Main (VcG Neuhof Open, 23 to 25 June). The prize money will be €40,000 in each case.
"The German Swing promises top-class golf on three proven tournament courses. We are delighted that we have been able to make this highlight of the 2026 Pro Golf Tour season possible at these special venues. The stage is set for exciting international competitions that will be remembered," says Peter Zäh, Managing Director of the Pro Golf Tour.
"The long-term competitiveness of up-and-coming golfers benefits from high-class tournament experience on challenging courses. We are therefore very happy that these three truly suitable venues allow us to offer the best conditions, especially for the many German players on the Pro Golf Tour," explains Marco Paeke, Managing Director of the Association of Club-Free Golfers in the DGV e.V. (VcG). "In addition to the German Challenge powered by VcG and the Amundi German Masters powered by VcG, the German Swing gives our young golfers the opportunity to gain valuable international competition experience on their way to the top."
The host clubs are also looking forward to the premiere in June with enthusiasm. "By hosting one of the three tournaments of the German Swing on the Pro Golf Tour, we are crowning our club's sporting ambitions of recent years and accepting the challenge of being remembered as the perfect host with ideal conditions, sportsmanship, hospitality and service," says Jean-Claude Parent, President of the Owingen-Überlingen Golf Club.
And Achim Lehnstaedt, club manager of the Golf- und Land-Club Köln, emphasises: "Thanks to its more than 100-year history, the Golf- und Land-Club Köln is one of the most traditional and athletically significant courses in Germany. By hosting this event, the club is continuing its long tournament tradition and at the same time setting an example for the promotion of top young talent. The Golf- und Land-Club Köln has always stood for sporting excellence at the highest level. Together with the Pro Golf Tour, we are creating a platform for young talents who are looking to make their way into international professional sport – and thus combining our tradition with the future of golf."
"We are delighted that our Parkland Course has been selected by the Pro Golf Tour for the German Swing at three German golf courses," says Dr Jochen Nachtwey, President of Golf Club Neuhof. "The fact that professional sport is taking place at our facility shows once again that our club is capable of hosting a tournament of the highest sporting quality. It is a great honour for us – and we also see it as our duty – to work with the organisers to stage an event of the highest standard. We want to showcase our club and thereby further strengthen our position in national golf. It is also particularly important to us to show young talents – both from the club and the region – the paths and opportunities available to them."
Comprehensive tournament history at all three clubs
The Golf- und Land-Club Köln has hosted Gary Player (1957), Sir Nick Faldo and Seve Ballesteros (1978), among others, as part of the German Open. In 1983, around a hundred journalists from all over the world came to Refrath for the German Open, and 16,000 spectators were a sign of the golf boom that was beginning in Germany thanks to the successes of Bernhard Langer. From 1991 to 1997, the Ladies European Tour was also based at the Golf- und Land-Club Köln with the Hennessy Cup, which was the highest-doted tournament at the time.
The Owingen-Überlingen Golf Club has been a member of The Leading Golf Clubs of Germany since 2023 and has been co-organising a professional tournament format (INGUN CUP) for many years, with 120 participants each at the GC Konstanz, Golf & Country Club Schloss Langenstein and GC Owingen-Überlingen, which was also once a venue on the European Seniors Tour.
Among the tournament highlights at the Neuhof Golf Club – also awarded the seal of approval by The Leading Golf Clubs of Germany – are the hosting of the International Amateur Championship for men in the 2018 season and its counterpart for women in 2022. The Parkland Course has also been the venue for several German championships in the youth and age group categories. Martin Keskari and Max Röhrig are two teaching professionals who are currently passing on their knowledge to talented players and members who have already made their mark on the Pro Golf Tour with several victories. In June 2024, youngster Moritz Küls secured a wild card for the Pro Golf Tour (Royal Homburger Open) at the age of just 15.
