Nine Birdies and an Eagle in the Final Round: Horder Shines at the Red Sea

Red Sea Ain Sokhna Open 2026

Nicolas Horder delivered a stunning final round of 63 at the Red Sea Egyptian Classic to secure his second victory on the Pro Golf Tour in impressive fashion. The German finished with a commanding five-shot lead over Belgium’s Kristof Ulenaers, who had triumphed just a few days earlier at the Red Sea Ain Sokhna Open. France’s Antoine Bachelier claimed third place.

Ain Sokhna, Egypt –Heading into the third and final round at Golf Club Ain Sokhna, the leaderboard suggested a tightly contested battle for the title, with several players clustered at the top. However, by the time the back nine began, it became increasingly clear that there would be no dramatic showdown in the second event of the Egypt Swing. Horder had other plans.

The Munich native, who played college golf at the University of Arkansas, opened with two early birdies before accelerating the pace in the middle part of the round. He carded seven birdies overall, including four in a row starting at the 11th, pulling away decisively from the field. An eagle on the 17th was the final statement of his outstanding performance. With rounds of 70, 64, and 63, Horder finished at 19-under par, five shots clear of his closest challengers.

Good Shots at the Right Time

For Horder, it marks his second Pro Golf Tour title following the Haugschlag NÖ Open 2025. “I had a lot of fun,” said the winner. “I made a long putt on the first hole and then stuck to my plan throughout. Compared to many previous rounds, I was able to play really freely. Then a lot of good shots came at the right time, and everything just fell into place.”

“My game felt very solid throughout,” Horder added. “My stats were really good, and even in the first round I could have gone much lower with a bit more consistency on the greens. Luckily, that improved in the final two rounds. Overall, every part of my game was in a very good place.”

Horder climbs to third place in the Order of Merit standings. Kristof Ulenaers remains in the lead ahead of Dario Antonisse, while Alejandro Pedryc and Mauro Gilardi occupy fourth and fifth place respectively.

The Golf Club Ain Sokhna once again proved to be the perfect venue for the Egypt Swing, offering a diverse 27-hole layout along the Red Sea and serving as a long-standing fixture on the Pro Golf Tour calendar. The nearby The G Hotel provided players and guests with modern comfort and on-site amenities, including a pool.

The Pro Golf Tour now moves on to Austria at the end of April. Starting April 28, Horder will look to defend his title at the Haugschlag NÖ Open by perfect eagle 2026.
