Playoff Birdie on the Island Green: Fuchs Claims First Title
Gradi Polish Open by Emeralld 2025
Dennis Fuchs (-14) wins his first title at the Pro Golf Tour stop in Poland.
Brzeźno, Poland – Dennis Fuchs captured his first victory on the Pro Golf Tour at the 2025 Gradi Polish Open by Emeralld. The 26-year-old from Bavaria triumphed near Wrocław after carding a final-round 67 and defeating Kristof Ulenaers from Belgium in a playoff. Third place was shared by Christian Bräunig, Leon Breimer (both Germany), and Owen Edwards (Wales).
The decisive birdie came at the 55th hole: a thrilling title battle at Gradi Golf Club ended spectacularly in a playoff on the final hole. The dramatic island green par-3 spans 126 meters across a pond from tee to pin. In the playoff, both Fuchs and Ulenaers hit wedge shots close to the flagstick. But while Fuchs drained his two-and-a-half-meter putt, Ulenaers narrowly missed his birdie attempt. Earlier, the duo had pulled slightly ahead of the chasing pack, both finishing 14 under par after a fiercely contested tournament.
For Fuchs, who lives just next to his home club, Golfclub Wörthsee near Munich, it marked the crowning moment of his career so far. The 2021 Bavarian Champion laid the foundation for his breakthrough title with an impressive opening-round 62, which included three eagles.

Capitalizing on the Break After a Rocky Start
“I’m still speechless,” Fuchs admitted shortly after the final putt. “These are the mo-ments you always dream of. Until the 18th hole I was handling the nerves well. But when I saw the crowd around the green, I realized this was about more than just second or third place. Luckily, I brought my A-game and hit solid shots.”
After missing seven cuts in his first nine starts of 2025, Fuchs used the past few weeks to sharpen his game — and returned to peak form just in time for the second half of the Pro Golf Tour season. “At the start of the year, I couldn’t practice as much as I wanted because of work commitments” (Fuchs also runs a company). “Thankfully, I’m now able to go full throttle.”
Fuchs also had high praise for the 18-hole layout at Gradi Golf Club, part of one of Po-land’s most exclusive golf and hotel resorts. “The way the course played this year made it one of the most demanding in terms of iron play. Even slightly errant shots could mean water or trouble with trees. The hard greens demanded precise wedge shots, which really suited my game. I had a great time.” Once again, the team led by owner Krzysztof Gradecki – father of tour player Mateusz Gradecki – succeeded in present-ing the 18-hole layout in top tournament condition.
Fuchs Climbs 65 Spots
In the Order of Merit, Fuchs leaps 65 positions to No. 16. Ulenaers moves up to 9th place. The top five remain unchanged: Filip Mruzek (Czech Republic), Lars van der Vight (Netherlands), Clement Guichard (France), Carl Siemens, and Martin Obtmeier (both Germany).
Starting July 22, the Pro Golf Tour will make its first appearance on German soil this season. The next event, The Cuber Open 2025, will take place at Öschberghof near Donaueschingen.
