Ramsau/Austria − The trophy of the Adamstal Open powered by EURAM Bank AG stays in France: After Olivier Rozner from Paris had won the tournament in Ramsau last year, Johann Lopez Lazaro secured himself the title this season with a result of 9 under par (67, 68, 66/ 201). Runner-up: German Patrick Kopp from Olching with -6 (68, 69, 67/ 204).

It couldn’t have been any more thrilling at the final round of the Adamstal Open 2016 powered by EURAM Bank AG: With each two strokes advantage towards each other Dominik Pietzsch from Munich (-7), Frenchman Johann Lopez Lazaro (-5) and German Patrick Kopp (-3) started together at 9:50 a.m. into the third round of the eleventh Pro Golf Tour event in 2016. During the following five hours the leadership changed every once in a while on the magnificent course, even though it came to a first preliminary decision at the third hole: While Kopp played his second birdie of the day and Lopez Lazaro even scored his third eagle of the tournament on this 440 meter par 5, Dominik Pietzsch scored a double-bogey. The 21-year-old who had been in the lead for two consecutive days had a very bad day and after a round of 77 he finished on the 11th rank.

The third round of the tournament became a duel between the man from the Côte d’Azur and the Bavarian. With five birdies in a row on holes 2 to 6 Kopp brought his name to the top of the leaderboard. But because of a double-bogey on hole 9 and a triple-bogey on the 13th green by Kopp, the consistency of the Frenchman was more successful. “Patrick had put me under a lot of pressure, and so I wasn’t sure if I’d win until the last putt”, so Lopez Lazaro, who had already won a tournament this year, the Open Casa Green Golf 2016. “I had to fight for this victory much more than for my win in Morocco.” By winning this second trophy, that includes 5000 ranking points, the 27-year-old is now ranked as fourth on the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit, followed by Patrick Kopp.

After eleven out of 19 tournaments this season Frenchman Antoine Schwartz is still leading the ranking followed by Belgian Christopher Mivis and German Julian Kunzenbacher. The next event will already start on Saturday as in Neidling/Austria the first round of the St. Pölten Pro Golf Tour 2016 presented by Diners Club will begin.
