Second victory for Swiss Benjamin Rusch

Haugschlag NÖ Open 2015

With an impressive demonstration of his excellent skills Benjamin Rusch from Weinfelden in Switzerland secured himself his second victory this season. With a total 15 under par (70, 64, 67) after 54 holes of the Haugschlag NÖ Open the 25-year-old was finally one stroke ahead of Philipp Mejow from Berlin (69, 67, 66/-14). Third place went to Dutchman Reinier Saxton with 13 under par (69, 68, 66). The Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit perfectly reflects the tournament result: Benjamin Rusch stays on top of the ranking followed by Mejow and Saxton.

Haugschlag/Austria — "I am so happy I was able to prevail again!" With a big smile on his face Benjamin Rusch held the trophy of the Haugschlag NÖ Open 2015 in his hands. It had been a perfect week for the man from Weinfelden, a village close to Lake Constance. "At the last two tournaments I also was in very good position but finally made a few poor shots and was not able to win", Rusch resumed. This time there was only one small miss when Rusch threeputted his final hole of the tournament. But as the Swiss had already acquired a two-shot-advantage to German Philipp Mejow this had no dramatic consequences and he received the trophy and the 5000 euro winner's cheque.

Even though the course of the Golfresort Haugschlag had to suffer from rain the days before the tournament started it was in a perfect condition when the members of the Pro Golf Tour teed off. The 61 course record set by German Sebastian Buhl in 2011 wasn't beaten but the participants proofed the quality of the course − and of the Pro Golf Tour. David Heinzinger played a fantastic round 64 on the final day, Rusch had scored a flawless 64 on day 2.

"It was a lot of fun to play on this perfectly prepared golf course. Things are going well at the moment", Rusch said after he extented his lead in the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit to 2250 points towards Mejow.

But already next week Mejow, Saxton and all other competitors will have the opportunity to catch up: The Adamstal Open powered by EURAM Bank AG will start on Monday at the 12th tournament of the Pro Golf Tour 2015.
